Sometime in the 1950's Walt Ellis bought Madge and Will's house and tore it down. Apparently he used the lumber to build this house which stands about 30 yards north of the original. Uncle Willis lived in Okobojo into the 1950's. I don't think he ever got the Okobojo Valley out of his system because he moved back twice, once in the 60's and 70's. Dad and grandpa visited him often but Willis didn't have any kids so he was the last of our clan to live there.
They didn't even bother to sell the "homeplace" (the original 160 acre homestead near Okobojo) until 1963. Grandpa's share was $3849.88 and he bought a 1963 Oldsmobile Celebrity Sedan with the money.
