Okobojo Times
May 1884 -

From First Issue of Okobojo Times,

Parties are now here who are intending to establish a lumber yard at this place.

We understand that the telephone line to be built between Pierre and Fairbank will be put up the last of the month and will run via Okobojo.

Our townsite men have been setting out shade trees throughout the town for several days past, adding greatly to the neatness and general appearance of the town.

There is an immense amount of travel through Okobojo at present. From early morn until late at night teams are passing north, drawing lumber and supplies, principally for Fairbank.
