PEGGY
Peggy came to work in town,
She 's busy as a bee.
But what we like best about it,
She stays with Ma and Me.
And I would say a better girl,
In all the world ain't found.
And this old house has come to life,
Since Peggy's been around.
There's young folks running in and out,
And blabbing on the phone.
Doing like we used to do,
When we was still at home.
Cluttering up the bath room,
Primping up her hair.
Or writing letters to the boys,
While sitting in my chair.
She goes out roller skating,
Dances roll and rock.
Don't get in too early,
Then forgets to wind her clock.
Wonder what she'll think of next,
Will wonders ever cease?
'Cause Peggy will be Peggy,
Our blonde-headed niece.
