WHITE AND RED ROSES
When Mother was still with me,
My heart was young and gay.
When both of us could go to church,
On every Mother's Day.
And as a token of my love,
'Tho much was ever said.
Upon the lapel of my coat,
I wore a rose of red.
But now that Mother's left me,
The day just don't seem right.
The rose I wear on Mother's day,
Has changed from red. to white.
And so with your permission,
To-day I'll just wear two.
A white rose for my mother,
And a big red rose for you.
