INSURANCE
He was one of those guys that had the whim,
that it never, was going to happen to him.
He had a job and he liked to work,
Just kind of a happy-go-lucky jerk.
He had a family that had to be fed,
But still he never looked ahead.
He had no insurance and he blew his pay,
Never did save for a rainy day.
Seeing a doctor he always put off,
When he'd sneeze and gag, spit and cough.
Then it happened one cold spring night,
He landed there in a bed of white.
He said to his doctor I want you to know,
That I can not work and I'm out of dough.
I'm broke and sick I can't get well,
So you better just let me go to hell.
Said the doctor I'll pull you through somehow,
You owe me a lot of money now.
I'll get you back to work by heck,
Then I can garnishee your check.
So they kept him there for many weeks,
Till the color started to stain his cheeks.
Then one day in the early fall,
His doctor told him to hit the ball.
He did work hard but he always found,
That his pay check wouldn't go around.
One night he said to his weeping spouse,
We'll lose the furniture, car and house.
But no one can say that I havn't tried,
Tho there's times I wish that I had of died.
There 's one thing sure you can bet,
There's nothing worse than a doctor's debt.
Then an INSURANCE man called next day,
And he showed this fellow the easy way.
So he took out sickness and accident,
Now the old boy smiles in sweet content.
He won't have to worry about the cost,
He'll even get paid for the time he's lost.
When defeat comes, don't concede it,
And you can't buy INSURANCE when you need it.
You can take some stock in what I say,
'Cause I didn't learn the easy way.
It's a good investment that's for sure,
If you never need it, let it mature.
