OUR TOWN

Our town was here before we came,
So let us keep it just the Same.
If we can't stay and take and give,
Then let's go somewhere else to live.
The people in our own home town,
Will help us up if we get down.
While other towns where we have went,
Won't know us when our cash is spent.
The ones who spend their dough with you,
Are guys who like to live here to.
But if they'd always gone away,
To buy their spuds and spend their pay.
We wouldn't ever have a town,
That we could boast of with renown.

Now when you read the ad to-day,
Of bargains fifty miles away.
And warm up your old family tub,
And hurry there to buy your grub.
You figure up and most the time,
You haven’t even saved a dime.
Because those big shot city gents,
Know how to figure their percents.
And when you see the bargain price,
A few cents cut looks pretty nice.
But when you go to check, my friend,
It's added on the other end.
